I came across a poem known as 'Ozymandias' by Percy Bysshe Shelley in one of my school textbooks when I was around 13 years old, I found it difficult to understand the poem at the time and there was a test on the particular poem. I was so intrigued to find out the hidden meaning behind the poem. It was during this time I got into a habit of reading poems and writing a few. Writing always seemed like an escape from reality for me. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I started to love writing and the love kept growing in me as I kept growing older. I feel the process of writing must be left to feelings themselves. Never force yourself to write anything but make sure you're putting yourself out there in nature to truly experience life. The words will find you.
How can one improve writing? Reading truly helps in picking a style for you, but only writing and practice will continue to help you improve. My advice to the people who are starting to write is never let go of the idea of your writing regardless of the outside opinion always stick with what you believe in because that's what going to keep you happy.
